Keypad Shows "xxx Sensor Open xxx Hours Ago" even though Door is Closed and App Shows No Issues

Hello,

New to the community, and have gone through some threads from a couple years ago where people were having similar but not exactly the same issues that I'm having:

Currently, I have a persistent issue where a door that I use most frequently (and one that may remain open for more that 10 seconds (garage or front door if we're taking things in and out of the house, etc.), shows as open in the keypad, but is actually closed (and shows as closed in the app).

So on most days when I go to arm my system, there is a triangle with an exclamation mark on the right and when I press on it, it will say "Garage Entry Sensor Open, 4 hours ago".  I have to manually clear it in order for the system to arm fully (and not exclude the garage door sensor), which is very annoying, as I have to now teach my family to not just press "Home" or "Away" but ensure there is not exclamation mark, go through clear it, etc.

It seems that the keypad does not refresh like the app does.

And, I've tried arming the system by ignoring the warning, and the base station will say "System Armed, Garage Entry will be monitored when closed" (or whatever), even though the door is closed and the app shows the door as closed.

Any solutions on how to get the keypad to get the most recent activity from the base station?

Thank you!

-Eddie

@lakerholic Whenever that Entry Sensor is closed, your system should get that signal and the "Entry Sensor Open" message on the Keypad should go away, especially since your mobile app updates with the correct information.

Is this Entry Sensor placed on a metal door? We don't recommend putting Entry Sensors on metal surfaces, as that can cause the sensor to demagnetize and have the system read incorrect opened/closed states. If this sensor is on metal, I would put a buffer between both pieces of the sensor and the door. This can be anything like a piece of cardboard, plastic, or an additional layer of adhesive.

Thank you so much.  It's on a metal door and metal frame. I will try a piece of cardboard or something on both pieces!
