The SimpliSafe® Mobile App uses cookies to save your login session. Cookies allow for various web flows to be called and background refreshes to occur. Cookies do not store any sensitive information, instead they keep a record of the session itself.
If you are encountering this error, it’s likely due to cookies being blocked on your phone or tablets default browser. To fix this issue, you will need to allow cookies on your device by following the steps below. You can scroll through the article, or use the anchor links below to be taken directly to that section.

How To Allow Cookies on iOS
Open the Settings app on your iOS device
Scroll down and select “Safari”
Look for the “Block All Cookies” setting and toggle this to OFF
If "Block All Cookies" is not listed under Privacy & Security, tap on Advanced at the bottom of the screen
Force close the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Try logging in to the SimpliSafe® Mobile App again on this device
How To Allow Cookies on Android
Most Android devices allow you to use the browser of your choice. We included instructions for some of the most popular browsers below.
Google Chrome
Open Chrome on your Android phone or tablet
Select the vertical dot menu from the top right of your browser
Choose Settings
Choose Site Settings
Choose Third-party cookies
Ensure that you are allowing third-party cookies
Force close the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Try logging in to the SimpliSafe® Mobile App again on this device
Mozilla Firefox
Open Firefox on your Android phone or tablet
Tap the vertical dot menu from the bottom right of your browser
Choose Settings
Go to Site Permissions
Tap Allow Cookies
Force close the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Try logging in to the SimpliSafe® Mobile App again on this device
Samsung Internet
Open Samsung Internet on your Android phone or tablet
Tap the three-bar menu icon in the bottom right corner
Choose Settings
Choose Sites and Downloads
Choose Site Permissions
Choose Cookies
Select Allow All Cookies
Force close the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Try logging in to the SimpliSafe® Mobile App again on this device
Microsoft Edge
Open Edge on your Android phone or tablet
Select the Settings and More Menu (three-bar menu in the bottom right corner of the browser)
Choose Settings
Go to Privacy and Security
Select Site Settings
Choose Third-party cookies
Ensure that you are allowing third-party cookies
Force close the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Try logging in to the SimpliSafe® Mobile App again on this device
DuckDuckGo
DuckDuckGo is a new privacy browser that blocks all cookies on websites, by default. To get this browser to work with SimpliSafe®, you’ll need to add our Auth website to the browsers settings.
Open the Duck Duck Go browser on your Android phone or tablet
Tap on the three dots in the top right corner
Select Settings
Select Web Tracking Protection
Choose Unprotected Sites
Tap on the + sign
Add the following site: www.auth.simplisafe.com
Select Save
Force close the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Try logging in to the SimpliSafe® Mobile App again on this device
Brave
Open Brave on your Android phone or tablet
Select the vertical dot menu from the bottom right of your browser
Choose Settings
Choose Site Settings
Choose Third-party cookies
Ensure that you are allowing third-party cookies
Force close the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Try logging in to the SimpliSafe® Mobile App again on this device
Additional Troubleshooting for Android
If you have already tried the above steps to allow cookies for your Android device and are still unable to login, use the steps below to enable “On Device Site Data”.
NOTE: This setting is not available for Firefox, DuckDuckGo, or the iOS version of Chrome.
Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Brave
Launch the browser app on your Android phone or tablet
Choose the menu option at the top or bottom of your browser
Select Settings from the menu
Scroll down to “Site Settings” and select it
Confirm that “On-Device Site Data” is turned on
If OFF, we recommend enabling it
Force close the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Launch the app and try logging in again
