To register the alarm permit that you acquired from your municipality, you’ll need to use the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your phone or tablet. 

If you still need to determine whether or not a permit is needed for the location of your system, you can also find this within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App by navigating to:

1. My System in the bottom navigation bar

2. Select Location Settings from the top of the menu

3. Scroll down to the section labeled Permits

4. Then tap on Police or Fire

5. Then tap on Permit Ordinance to see additional information about your municipality or jurisdiction

Registering a Permit with SimpliSafe®

Once you have received your alarm permit, you will need to register it within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App using the steps below:

1. Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your phone or tablet

2. Navigate to My System at the bottom of the screen

3. Choose your Location Settings

4. Scroll to Permits at the bottom of the screen

5. Tap on the permit you wish to manage (Police or Fire)

1. If you have a single permit or multipurpose permit for both Police and Fire, you’ll need to enter it into both fields one at a time.

6. Fill out the form using the information from your permit, including your permit number and its corresponding expiration date (if applicable)

7. Select Save Permit from the bottom of the screen once you’re done to save your selections

8. Your permit will now appear within the SimpliSafe® Mobile App and be available to monitoring specialists in the event of an alarm

**Please note that different towns and cities refer to alarm permits by different names. Below is a short list of some of the most common names:

• Account Number

• Alarm Permit Account Number

• Alarm User Permit Number

• Assigned ID Number

• Business Alarm Permit

• Customer Number

• Decal Number

• License Number

• Permit Application Number

• Police Department Code Number

• Registration Number

• Residential Alarm Permit
