Two Base Stations in one home testing results

This may get lengthy and boring, if not interested skip it.

Due to weak RF signals to outdoor cameras I added a 2nd Base Station to test for improvements.

Short my story, 5 outdoor cams, all solar, 2 Doorbells pro. 25 or 30 sensors.

Advice here on the forum is always move the base closer to that camera or sensor, well theres 5 cameras so rather difficult to get close to all of them. Or 25, 30 sensors.

So, added 2nd base, Base 2.

Moved Original Base and Base 2 all over the place where there were available receptacles.

I deleted two outdoor from original base and added those two to Base 2. No sensors. Catch 22 there with separate base stations.

Effects of adding cameras to 2nd Base. They become self monitoring only, or I chose that. Only an idiot would pay twice.

Effects of moving Original base all the way south, better communication with south outdoor camera, but inconsistent.

Also causes sensors drops, all the way north.

So after a week or so of testing and spamming the inside tech with videos and information, this morning I moved the original base north about 12 feet to the computer room.

Slid the North window sensor off it's base and let it blink, dropped sensor was now happy again.

I have seen excellent camera live view response and terrible response. Same base locations mind you. Inconsistent, why? Internet traffic? Who knows why?

Anyhow, to keep it as brief as possible a 2nd base helps some.

Whats causing some of this in my opinion? Our home is all brick to the eaves, every door is steel except inner garage door.

For instance the french double doors are both steel, with windows of course, an outdoor cam is mounted on the wooden strip that separates the doors, yet RF can't get out there effectively.

2nd Base 2 is sitting on a north window sill and reaches it better on an angle. Though not perfect or great live views, sometimes great, sometimes not.

I haven't kept many notes, a few, I have followed up with the inside tech with a dozen emails and at least a dozen video recordings.

So, Base 2 remains on north window sill, only self monitoring on french door camera and under deck camera. For now.

What could be possibly done?

Make it possible to add a base or modified base as device(s).

It should communicate with the entire system, or create a base puck(s) as RF repeaters that could be daisy chained via wifi. Everything commuicates with one base.

But cameras etc could be assigned to those pucks, repeaters.

I don't know the internal design, but seems like firmware could do a lot of this.

So, when or if or ever repeaters of some sort are developed, certain types of construction will continue to have RF communication issues, and probably WiFi if the user doesn't understand the need for at least Mesh wifi.

So in an as brief as possible, there you go.

A half successful test. Inconsistent though it is. I tested a lot, this only scratches the surface.
