Suggestion: The Siren on the base station needs a louder dB level

I have the volume for the siren on the Base Station at the highest level, but the Siren is still very faint if it goes off.  I do see this being any type of deterrent at all to anyone that might make entry into the home.  I haven't gotten a backup siren to see if it's any louder, but Simplisafe really needs to upgrade the dB level of the Sirens and they need to give us the ability to set the dB level in the App.

Hi ck75253,

The latest-gen Base Station is set to 95dB, or as loud as a truck zooming past your house. The Wireless Siren is at 105dB, or as loud as a rock concert. It definitely shouldn't sound faint at all! And both have configurable volume settings (you'll find the Base Station volume in General Settings).

But are you talking about the main siren? You might be hearing the countdown chirps, which actually come from the Keypad. Those are definitely fairly quiet.

I think the sirens should be a lot louder. (Think houses in the suburbs.) I want all my neighbors to hear it go off.

@adslcook 105dB up close is already loud enough to cause significant damage to hearing, which is why we stopped there. But thanks for the feedback!

@davey_d there should be an alarm that can be installed outdoor. My family in Italy has alarms like that, that all neighbors can hear. Not sure of the brand. Hearing loss not as much of a concern as safety :)

@cfeletto We do offer a Wireless Siren that can be used indoors or outdoors. If an alarm is triggered, the Wireless Siren will sound as well. For more information, check out this page on our website.

When I'm upstairs and the AC is running I can barely hear the simpli safe alarm that was triggered accidentally when a family member was leaving before disengaging the system.  This is ridiculous.  There is no way go add a second alarm station upstairs.  If you live a a larger house this system is not good and unfortunately I'm going to have to go with another product.

@tbritty4 As Worthing mentioned, we offer a Wireless Siren that relays door chimes when an Entry Sensor is opened and the Base Station's siren when an alarm is triggered. This siren can be placed on your second floor so you'll still hear an alarm when you're upstairs.

Or buy the additional alarm siren(s) which will surely cost you less than eating the cost of SimpliSafe and switching to another provider, yes?

I have the extra siren outside plus all 5 of my outdoor cameras siren go off during an alarm so trust me when I say it's pretty loud and all my neighbors know when my house alarm goes off.

I find the siren to be very loud. Perhaps something is wrong with yours and SimpliSafe should take a look at it.

It would also be a plus if the frequency (which is related to the pitch) could be adjusted for those who are hearing impaired.
