SimpliSafe Changing service offerings after you have purchased the system
I chose and bought three Simpli Safe systems to monitor my three remote Alaska rental properties, mainly concerned with water and heat/freeze monitoring. I worked with a sales rep to ensure the system would work for me as the properties do not have internet, only cell range, due to their remote locations. I was ASSURED, in writing, all i need was cell coverage and the hardware. This worked for about a year till it stopped working one day, I called, they then, a year later, tried to push a service on me saying "well without wifi you need to have a monitoring plan." Felt like a bait and switch. So I went ahead and got the wifi so I can use the system again and now what they are saying is "you can use the app to set the system but you still wont get notifications of alerts via text or the app. Again, exact opposite of what I was told. Another bait and switch. I was so happy with the system initially, when it was working off cell range and sending me alerts as promised, but they have changed their offering to force people into subscriptions and its appalling. I will never recommend them to anyone again and will look for a new system.
