Poor Camera quality and tech support

Dissatisfaction of wireless  outdoor camera and wif connections and technical support.  This camera will not operate with newer style of wpa2-wpa3 routers and tech support just has you keep reinstalling and uninstalling hoping for a different outcome.

As a long time customer i am here to say there are better systems out there and am very close to scrapping Simpli Safe and getting something that is reliable and user freindly!!!!!I have tried everything from installing a new router to a new wifi extender, moving the router closer to the camera, etc etc and    I am losing the little bit of confidence and trust  I had in the quality of SimpliSafe , (not the first time I have had issues with a doorbell camera or outdoor camera.) My time and peace of mind are worth investing in another security system that actually works.

Hi @sorjms63,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Our engineering team is always hard at work on improving our products, especially the Outdoor Camera. I'd like to address a couple of things that you mention.

I see that you've already done some troubleshooting on the WiFi connection between the camera and your router. The other connection that's important is between the camera and your Base Station, which uses the same local radio link. If we were to continue troubleshooting, that would be the next piece we should tackle. Moving the Base Station closer to the camera can often have a big impact on performance.

You also mention compatibility with WPA3. The Outdoor Camera should actually be able to connect to networks with WPA3, but we've seen incompatibility with some router models. Our engineering team is already working to resolve that as well.

I have gone ahead and requested a call with a specialist, to see if there's anything we can do to turn things around for you. Please keep an ear out for that call.
