Can Activate System even if outside doors are open (without warnings)

After a lengthy text session with Simplisafe today, they confirmed that the system can activate even with an outside door open.  True, it will start monitoring the open door once it's closed, but in our case, we just spent a night with our patio door open and the system in 'home' mode.

All push notifications were double checked along with settings for each device.  Simplisafe confirmed that these settings were correct.  I even 'power cycled the Base Station' at their suggestion.  After considerable testing, we confirmed that the system will activate without warning you that an outside door is open.  This is very troublesome and I consider it a weakness in their security system.  For now, I need to manually check that all doors, including the patio door, are closed before activating the system.

@ras Yes, when you arm your SimpliSafe system with an Entry Sensor open the Base Station will relay a verbal warning notifying you that a sensor is open, but the system will still arm. This was an intentional feature so you can leave certain doors/window open, like if you wanted to leave a window open at night to get some fresh air.

We have submitted a feature request to our dev team to add a warning in the app notifying you that a sensor is open when you go to arm your system. Be sure to follow this thread in the Community to be notified whenever we have any news.

The Bast Station is in an entirely different part of the house.  IF there was a verbal warning, it would not be heard.  Rather than a verbal warning, it should require an override on the keypad in order to activate the system when an outside door is open.  I don't ever recall hearing a verbal warning.
