Smoke alarm

My smoke alarm is beeping with no sign of any fire or anything else.  How do I stop that remotely as this is my winter home.

Hi @hoyavb ,

The answer depends a little bit based on what model sensor you have. But either way, you'll want to troubleshoot on location.

If you have a standalone Smoke Detector, then you might be hearing the chirping for the low battery warning. That warning won't result in false alarms or any other events, but eventually the battery while die and the Smoke Detector will no longer be functional. So of course the only way to resolve that issue would be to replace the battery.

If you have a 2-in-1 combo Smoke & CO Detector, you might be encountering the new Early Alert warning, indicating that the unit has detected trace amounts of smoke or carbon monoxide. We have a page on the Help Center to explain more about this feature.

And finally for both models, you might also be seeing the Tamper Switch warning - indicating that the unit is not securely mounted. We also have a guide to explain how to resolve that.
