Smart lock compatibility - which deadbo;t is compatibe
I bought the Simplisafe smart lock and cannot find a deadbolt compatible with it so far. I first bought a Kickset smart deadbolt but for that one none of the included adapter match the thumbturn (too small). Returned and bought a Defiant lock. For that one the adapter match, but the holes on the mounting plate are too narrow and doesn't match the holes on the deadbolt so cannot be mounted. Returned and bought a Schlage deadbolt which had the exact same problem as the Defiant one. Can Simplisafe give a list of deadbolt locks that are compatible with their smart lock to help customers select?

Hello @mankoula ,
We don't usually have specific recommendations. Our adapters are designed to fit the majority of single-cylinder deadbolts on the market. I've installed on multiple models of Defiant and Schlage myself! It just seems that you unfortunately found the wrong ones.

@mankoula Suggest you call support and ask them to recommend several models. I have a Schlage and it fit fine.

I have the worst experience with ss regarding a “simpli” list of compatible dead bolts. I have yet to receive a response after numerous calls.

Just want to chime in that I recently received my SimpliSafe Smart Lock and it is NOT compatible with my Valli & Valli "single-cylinder deadbolt with a thumbturn on the inside". Extremely disappointed considering that I'd read over and over everywhere I looked that it works with the majority of models on the market. Our locks are very high end and just assumed they would be compatible, but the screw holes of the mounting plate do not align with the deadbolts and the adapter that fit the lock tailpiece was oriented 45° off from the deadbolt's.

SS is not compatible with Kwikset 991 Pismo Keyed Entry Knob and Single Cylinder Deadbolt. Holes don't align appropriately.
