@paulchristie2105 Mine is fine but here is a link to an article to assist. Also in the past I called support and, after a bit of troubleshooting, had to uninstall and reinstall, then recalibrate. From then on it has worked fine, and that was about a year ago.  All else fails, call support.

@paulchristie2105 An Offline error message for the Smart Lock indicates that its batteries need to be replaced. To do this, slide the battery cover (which is the oval part of the Smart Lock that says "SimpliSafe" on it) down, this will reveal its batteries so you can replace them.

After new batteries have been put into the Smart Lock, you can slide the battery cover back on the device until it clicks into place.

For more details, check out the Smart Lock Offline article in our Help Center.

@simplisafe_admin Thank you but the batteries were replaced less than two months ago and the lock has only been opened and closed maybe 20 to 30 times as this door is used rarely, should the batteries run down that quickly?

@paulchristie2105 Did you recalibrate the lock? Did you remove and add it back? Did you call support?

@paulchristie2105 How far away is the Base Station from the Smart Lock? And are there any thick walls/appliances between the two devices (think brick/stone walls, a metal door.)

If there is anything like that between the devices, that can cause interference. Interference can force the Smart Lock to work harder to maintain its connection to the Base Station, forcing its batteries to deplete faster. It can help to move the Base Station closer to the Smart Lock to minimize any potential interference.

Thanks I will try these recommendations after Milton has passed.
