Timestamp obscured or missing on Timeline events due to iOS text scaling

We have identified an issue with the iOS version of the SimpliSafe® app, where the timestamp is being obscured for each entry in the Timeline. The issue is related to how the app handles iOS text scaling. So you may encounter this issue if you have set the text size in iOS to higher than the default.

Our engineering team has rolled out a hotfix to resolve this issue. Please head over to your device’s App Store to update to version 2200.10.0 or higher. If you continue to experience similar symptoms as above, please let us know here.

Hi

Just downloaded the latest app 2200.0.9 # 19717 and it seems that the timestamps have been removed when activities such arming and disarming are shown.

Personally l found these timestamps useful. Is it a glitch / bug or an intended removal?

Thank you

Craig.

@craig7327 Just updated the Android phone app yesterday, shows different version # but, bottom line, the date and times are still on each event in the timeline.

I would call support and ask.

@craig7327 This was certainly not an intended removal! If you could please let me know your device's model and operating system, I can send this to our app team. But in the meantime, if you slightly reduce the font size on your device, are the timestamps in your timeline visible again?

Hi @emily_s

Thank you for getting in touch.
Reducing font size didn’t return the timestamps.

The timestamps only show on an automatic test signal or if you play a captured video clip in the timeline, but it has to be opened and played.

I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS 17.4.1

Model Number MGD73B/A

Thank you

Craig

The SimpliSafe app on my iPhone 13S does not list version I currently have.  Time stamps on events are still obscured.  I can’t locate a way to update version through the App Store.

@karenatkinson1 To check which version of the SimpliSafe mobile app you have downloaded, take these steps on your iPhone:

  1. Open up Settings
  2. Select General and then iPhone Storage
  3. Scroll through the apps on your screen until you see the SimpliSafe app
  4. Select the SimpliSafe app
  5. You will see the version of the app you have installed next to the app icon

If you do not see an update available for the SimpliSafe mobile app, search for the app in the App Store and you should see the option to update it.

@tonyvolpe try deleting the app, then reinstalling it from the app store. Even if the latest update hasn't been rolled out to your device yet, reinstalling should force it.
