SimpliSafe App unable to load on some iOS devices

We are receiving reports of users being unable to load the SimpliSafe® app on some iOS devices - crashing before even getting to the loading or login screens. You may be able to log into the app on a different iOS device, suggesting that this might be a device-specific issue. The webapp is not affected, and users are still able to arm, disarm, and manage your accounts there.

 

Our engineering team has rolled out a hotfix to resolve this issue. Please head over to your device’s App Store to update to version 2200.9.1 or higher. If you continue to experience similar symptoms as above, please let us know here.

I don't even own an Apple product, but hat's off to SS for getting a hotfix out this quickly to address this issue. Note, chances of customers finding it here are slim, so how about an email to customers that are effected?

I have a group on Facebook for simplisafe and a few people who have ios phones are posting about this problem and I believe it's an ios issue from what I'm gathering.

Deleted the app, reloaded it, reset the network as per the simplisafe tech text site, took out the batteries, everything they said, and STILL didn't resolve the unexpected error. The app will not open

@jeffberman60 Your case details have been forwarded to our tech team, and a Tech Specialist will be in touch to get to the bottom of this. We were told that they emailed you to set up a call, so we recommend checking your inbox (and your spam box if you do not see it there) so we can get to the bottom of this.

Yep.  Started yesterday. iPhone 14.  Updated app did not fix the problem.  Uninstalled and reinstalled, still doesn’t work

@Bandit1015 Do you receive any type of error message when you try to log into the mobile app? Or does the application just refuse to load?

Hi @simplisafe_admin

I am unable to load the app on my iPhone. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling from App store, restarting the device. The app does not work- it just shows the "Simplisafe" screen and hangs. Could you please assist?

When did you start experiencing this issue? And what is the model of your device and the iOS version it is running?

Experiencing same problem - just updated to 2300.21.0 - no change.

@jvcl_981 Do you experience any type of error message when you open the SimpliSafe app, or does it just not load? Do you have another iOS device like an iPad or another iPhone to test if the same behavior occurs? We also recommend deleting the SimpliSafe app from your device and then redownloading it. 

 

But if the above steps do not help, please let us know the device model and its iOS version so we can investigate further.
