Resolved

Inability to Trigger Recordings or Enter Full Screen when Live Streaming in the the SimpliSafe® Online Account

We have been seeing rare reports where users cannot initiate camera recordings or watch livestreams in full screen using the SimpliSafe® Online Account for the Smart Alarm Indoor Security Camera, Wireless Outdoor Security Camera, or Outdoor Security Camera Series 2. Functionality on the SimpliSafe® Mobile App is not impacted. 

 

Our teams are aware of this and are working on a fix. If you are experiencing this, please chime in here. 


In the meantime, if you do not have our Mobile App on your phone or tablet, you can download it in the App Store for iOS devices, and the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Hello all,

 

We're happy to announce that this should now be RESOLVED. When you go to livestream these impacted cameras in the SimpliSafe® Online Account, you should be able to trigger recordings and watch the stream in full screen. 

 

If you continue to experience this issue, please let us know.

new update I cannot minimize screen or record using computer---I can still record using my I-phone---this is bad

@mbroadbent1 We converted your comment into its own post so we could troubleshoot further here. 

 

What browser are you using? When livestreaming a camera, you should still be able to initiate a recording. What happens if you delete the cache/cookies on your browser? Or try a different browser entirely?

Also you do not have the black bar on the bottom of camera screen on the outdoor camera. That allows you

activate the Live, Maximize, and Record...See photo

What is wrong with the online control panel? I am unable to enlarge and record over half of my security cameras now (not from my phone but from a laptop). I have called numerous times with people who don't seem to comprehend the issues, as if this is the first time they've heard about this. I have come to find out it's prevalent and still ongoing! This is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately.

I have always been able to look at my cameras full screen on my computer. Lately when I try to, the menu options for doing so fade away and do not come back even when the mouse is hovering over the video. Same thing happens on my work computer. I have tried different browsers etc..

I have the same problem. Front camera I can do on phone and laptop. Back camera only goes full screen on phone, yet the icon is available until I put mouse over camera on laptop, then it fades and resets to view live

@mobilcams Are you experiencing this behavior with all of your cameras, or only some of them? It sounds like you may be experiencing this known issue when trying to livestream certain cameras while using the SimpliSafe Online Account. Our internal teams are actively working on a solution.

Mine is like the link you have, known issue, and I have no black bar to expand to full screen the back yard camera. I can move my mouse over, and it shows it. But once I go to it, it goes back to default and shows a watch live box. I can click on watch live and it works, but no expanding or control of it.

It is happening on both camera windows. Hovering the mouse over the windows does not produce navigation buttons or volume etc. You can make them appear if you tab around the window but still cannot select them with your mouse. I have tried both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

Have the same issue. Five cameras, three will allow fullscreen and have the black bar, two do not have the black bar and will not allow fullscreen
