trouble with referral-no credit for referral

Anyone else having trouble receiving the free month of monitoring promised with the referral link? I purchased a system and have monitoring. My daughter purchased a system for her apartment and has monitoring. I used the referral link to help her purchase her system. I have tried to contact them about this via email but get no help. Any suggestions?

Hi twilamarsh,

The important thing is that in order for the referral link to work, the referred person needs to purchase their system using the embedded promo code. If your daughter decided to purchase using the current site discount (which is sometimes better than the referral discount - so I wouldn't blame her!), that will use a different promo code, so your referral bonus won't be automatically applied.

But that's just the machine part of the referral program. Of course, our Support team is more than happy to just apply the bonus to your account manually!

I would call customer service and they should be able to help you.  Although it has been several years ago, I received the free month monitoring for a referral.

I referred someone 8 months ago and have never received my reward. Will contact customer service.

I'm very upset with Simplisafe because I still haven't received my referral award of $200 that they said that I should have received after 45 days which was 2 weeks ago! I spent over 20 minutes on the phone with an agent and I kept questioning them why my referral didn't just show up on my account? Have they ever paid out a referral bonus before or is this just a big lie? I'm so upset that I'm considering cancelling my Simplisafe and buying a Cove system plus I'm going to tell my brother in law to return his system that he bought through my referral so that I could get $200 if they are not going to honor their referral program. I shouldn't have to chase down my reward!

@repeatey​ I'm sorry to hear about this experience. The referral gift card is sent out from a third party that uses their own system that our agents do not have access to.

Same thing has happened to me.  Daugther used the referral code but not credit given to me.

@13autumn447 How long ago did your daughter use your referral link to purchase her system? The gift card should be emailed to you 45 days after a system was purchased using your link. But if it has been longer than 45 days, please contact our Support team for additional help.

What is the third party that sent the reward so I can search my email?

@Marcos3434 our third party distributes the gift cards, but the email should still be from SimpliSafe. We would recommend checking your spam folder to ensure that it didn't get sent there in error, but if it is not there, please reach out to our Support team for further assistance.
