Arm/Disarm via Geolocation

It would be really great to have geolocation supported within the SimpliSafe app.  

I have canary cameras and they arm/disarm based on geolocation - the app even lets you set up multiple users so that it can prevent arming if only one person leaves the house.

I want to set my alarm to arm automatically when I leave.  I can turn it off manually when I return home.  Other alarms systems offer this.

If that feature is important to you, then you should go with one of those other systems.

SS is very unlikely to have this any time soon.  And somewhat likely to have it never.

@redsoxfn820​ all I'm seeing is SimpliSafe chasing fads like "AI", with absolutely no attempt to backfill the product with features that are heavily requested and generally expected in a complete system.  If I'd realized that in time, I would have gone elsewhere ;-(

I would like to add my name to those who would also like to see a geolocation-based alarm set reminder. The alarm system I am changing from has a feature that, when the last registered device leaves the area, if the alarm is not set, the system generates a reminder that is sent to all registered users. Although, otherwise, I am happy with my new Simplisafe system, geolocation-based reminders are a feature I will certainly miss.

Please reconsider adding this feature to the Simplisafe system.

When can we expect geo fencing functionality added to the Simplisafe system 

Right now the only option is basic scheduling which doesn't work when you have more people with flexible schedule

We have submitted the product request to arm and disarm the system with geofencing, but we do not have any further updates from our devs regarding the request. If/when it is taken into development, we will post an official update in the Arm/Disarm via Geolocation thread.

@emily_s​ This is the same response I got almost a year ago when I first realized that this fundamental feature advertised on your website (https://simplisafe.com/blog/simplisafe-away-mode-secure-home-with-one-tap) turned out to not only not exist, but not even have a whiff of intent to implement.

I just went down that forum rabbithole with the idea of using the temperature sensor as a fridge/freezer failure sensor. A trivial change to the code (probably 15 minutes and a few hours testing/verification) to allow disabling of the low-temp threshold is all it would take to at least make it practical for freezers, yet this has gone ignored and unimplemented for 5+ years.

I'm disappointed to the point of planning to research a different system to replace it with a product that actually a) has some of these core features, and b) responds in a timely and *useful* manner to feature requests.

Yeah, I’m not sure how you guys are advertising this on your website when it’s not a feature you guys actually have. It’s extremely misleading to people. I’m highly considering moving away because that does not instill a lot of trust in me.

Geo fencing, such a basic feature to go unaddressed for 5 plus years, pretty horrific. I left brinks for simply safe and am pretty disappointed to see generic responses to a basic feature request 5+ years later.

Coming home to a ransacked house is a horrible feeling. (I know, it happened to me as a renter). What would make it that much worse is the realization that you'd forgotten to activate the alarm. 

We're human. We're going to forget from time to time. Geofencing solves that problem. And it needn't even activate the alarm; just send push notifications to the residents / primary contacts.

Our last system -- which was hardly cutting edge -- had it, and it was great. Please consider adding it soon. Thanks.

I do arm and disarm Simplisafe with Geofenceing, however, it can only be done currently within Home Assistant (that I know of) by using the unofficial Simplisafe integration. (Which is a PITA to add thanks to someone)😁

Even then, a company can stop that or any integration from working if they wish, which is their prerogative. Might make about, 1,100 customers angry, but they could.
