Device Connection Problem - Original Simplisafe

I go to "Device Settings" and press the "Update" icon at the upper right.  What come back is a "Device Connection Problem" with the following paragraph:

"Your device was unable to connect.  Make sure your device is plugged in, check your wifi and data settings and try again."

I tried numerous times with the same result.  BTY, how do I check my "data settings"?

@plsnrs The Original SimpliSafe system connects through its built-in cellular connection, so it sounds like the problem here is that its connection to your local cell tower is a little weak. To check your data settings, I would take a look at the Keypad to see if you have a "No Link to Dispatcher" notification. If you do, that could mean that the Base Station isn't connected to cell.

As a first step, it can help to reset the Base Station to force it to refresh its wireless connection. The video and guided flow in this Help Center article will take you through the steps of resetting yours.

If a reset doesn't help, I would then adjust the placement of the Base Station so it has an easier time connecting with the cell towers in your area. We recommend placing the Base Station on an elevated surface - at least 3 feet from the ground; and put on a non-dense material like wood or glass. It can also help to place the Base Station near (but not directly in front of) a window to help its connection to your local cell towers.
