changed network providers

having trouble connecting the base station to the network. Connected one of my cameras okay, but the base station will not connect. In fact, the search does not find any networks to connect to, but the camera was able to list available networks. I have removed the batteries to do a reboot, checked the batteries to see if they are still good, and replaced batteries and attempted several times. But, no luck, it cannot find the network even if I key in the network and password. I think my base station has a problem.

Hi @randy_870EQ9,

If you cannot find any available Wi-Fi networks using either the Keypad or SimpliSafe mobile app, I would recommend performing a longer version of a Base Station reset to completely power down the device. To do this:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the Base Station, and use a Phillips Head screwdriver to remove the screw below the plug.
  2. Remove the bottom cover and remove one battery from the Base Station.
  3. Wait three minutes with one battery out and the power cord unplugged. This will power down the Base Station.
  4. Plug the power cord back in without inserting the battery or putting the bottom cover back on.
  5. With the battery left out and the cover off, go back to the Keypad and search for your Wi-Fi network again. The network should now appear.

Once the Base Station has connected to Wi-Fi, put the battery you removed back into the device - this will ensure that the Base Station stays on. Then you can then remove the power cord, put the battery cover and screw back on, and then plug the power cord back in again.
