New account. "First 3 months free" but activation only shows 30 days as option?

As subject says.
We bought the SimpliSafe set from Costco. The flyer inside the box states the first three months are free, "just tap activate".
But the options shown are all 30 days?

@edwin first, welcome to the SImplisafe forums. Lot of long time customers here more than happy to help out.  For me, two generation systems and customer of 9+ years.

If Costco says you get 3 months, don't worry,  you will get your 3 months. Now, unfortunately, the reality: attempting to get ahold of a support agent live. Note, in your case you don't need a technical support rep, just a customer service rep will do. Listen to the prompts closely and choose billing questions. Signup online, get your monitoring and then you have time to straighten out the billing issue. Please post your outcome here if you get a chance.

BTW, I would change your forum handle to something other than your real name for privacy reasons.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

I've called the number stated on the flyer to activate by phone, but it is late already.
I guess I'll activate with the 30 day option and get things sorted out later as I kind of want to make use of my new alarm system. :)

And yeah.. I noticed the forum handle was auto generated, did not know I could change it, thanks for the advice!

@Random Username  SS is a very friendly oriented company, but sometimes, due to explosive growth they will initially fall a bit short.  They will try and meet and exceed your expectations. Also, many customers here in the forums that will be more than happy to try and assist if you have any issues.  Have a  good weekend.

Since it's a month-by-month service maybe it will show only 30 days at a crack.

Hi Random Username,

If you purchased from a retail partner, our system should have been able to recognize that and automatically applied any special offers you were given. But if it doesn't, our Support team at 800-548-9508 can definitely verify and make sure you get those bonus months!

@Johnny M talk about an opportunity lost.  Yes, you get the "atta boy" for replying to  Random Username but politely suggest  going the extra mile would have been addressing this for him.  You know his real identity, you or someone in the crack, elite marketing dept must be aware of the program etc etc.  Now RU gets to call into the support number, wait on hold for an hour, most likely advised they know nothing about the program, will communicate to our xxxx dept and we will call you back....maybe.

Not the way to run a railroad.

Please note I used as many "figures of speech" to make a point.  The shortest distance between to dots is a straight line".

I hope you get it. :-)

I have the same question.  What was the answer?

@newuser2022 in case you missed my earlier reply - and assuming that you also purchased from Costco, the free service time should have been automatically applied to your account. Clearly something went wrong with that automated system, but our Support team at 800-548-9508 can make sure that you get the bonus months.

I just purchased and I'm running into the same wall.  At no point during the software activation/setup is this made clear or apparent that you can apply the code provided, retroactively or otherwise.  Now I'm adding in my CC# details and hoping that random support thread (via internet search query) is the correct answer and that I won't end up on the phone having to deal with customer support when I'm only barely 2 hrs into my first customer experience with this company and product.  :(
