Actually, SS was the price leader (for PROFESSIONAL monitoring). Ring is a new competitor, and their price is attractive. Just keep in mind 2 things. 1) We don't have any experience on how GOOD their monitoring is, and 2) they are owned by Amazon, who is famous for starting with a low price and then when everybody signs up, boosting it. Or discontinuing the service.
I have only paid $14.99 since I signed up 6 years ago. I haven't found a need to be able to control the alarm from my Smartphone. Leave the house, turn it on; return home, turn it off. Simple, as in SimpliSafe!

Long time customer now disturbed by the second monitoring cost increase with in a year; $3 monthly increase in Sept 2022 and now another $2 increase in Sept 2023. Is this a result of new private equity firm ownership?
