I will turn off Internet...will Simpli Safe still work?

I have used Simpli Safe for well over 10 years. I just upgraded to an all new system. My original and the original Simpli Safe systems only worked via TEXT MESSAGING and that worked great. I could monitor it and I could turn it on and off with my app.

NOW, the new system, buight Aug 2024, looks like it is Internet based and that is needed for cameras and video door bells.....BUT IT DO NOT HAVE THESE ITEMS, like originally I just want the sensors, roors, water, fire, glass, etc....

QUESTION: When I disconnect my internet and shut that down will this new system work 24/7 with no internet????

I bet the answer is NOPE....sorry.....should have kept the original system i bet.....

THanks

Hayden

Hi @haydencochran,

A Wi-Fi connection is required in order for our cameras to function and for the Base Station to download firmware updates. But the Base Station and sensors communicate using their own radio frequency signal; so even if your internet goes down, your Base Station and devices will still be active and protect your home.

And the Base Station does connect to our monitoring center using Wi-Fi, but if you're subscribed to our Fast Protect™ or Standard Monitoring plans, the Base Station's cellular backup will kick in to maintain that connection.

@haydencochran Short answer: Yes. Before I move on further, note the 60 day return policy. Don't like it, call SS and get RMA, they will even cover shipping back. Done.

I should note the base has a cellular card so it can still connect to monitoring station, battery backup but you have to have an appropriate monitoring plan.  You also need internet to update the firmware.

Have a good holiday weekend.
