Different municipalities do have different rules about this. For example, some places require that our monitoring team keep record of your permit number. If we ever need to call for dispatch, the police (or fire) department will ask for that number.
Not having a permit number on file can result in no dispatch, or a fine.

I may be wrong, but I don't think SS needs that information. It's more that, if required, you get the necessary permits from your local municipality for an alarm. That's a local requirement and the alarm company would work regardless. Without the local permit you may get a fine.
