Home and business account

I have a home system already install and working.  I am adding a SimpliSafe system to my business.  Do I have to setup 2 different accounts and have 2 different logins for the app or can they be used with one account?

@bauerod  my first thought is to avoid the hassle and set up two different accounts, however, suggest you call sales and ask there. SS does have a multiple site dashboard now for buisness customers and would think it would work fine with your home but best to ask the experts.

bauerod,

Typically, we'd suggest that you use the same login, and add a new location the "Activate New Service" section of the SimpliSafe app. Once set up, you'll be able to switch between the two locations without having to log off.

The main complication is that each "account" can have only one login. So anyone who has the login details can access everything on your account. So if you have employees who you want to give access to your business location, but not your home location, it might make sense to have two separate logins instead.

@davey_d I would like to prevent employees from having access to SimpliSafe home location. Can I easily toggle between two accounts in the app? Would be a deal breaker if I have to log out and log in again every time. (I use random, 25 character passwords, so I’d have to look it up every time I log in)

@MDK01 If you want to have both Locations under the same Login, then anyone who has the login info will have access to all Locations.

If you want to have each Location under a separate Login, you would need to completely log out of one account to access the other - including going through multi-factor authentication. So it wouldn't be a simple toggle between locations.
