Which devices act as routers?

I was under the presumption that bigger devices like sirens would act as routers and extend the range at which a small sensor (e.g. door sensor) could be placed from the hub. Is this true? If this is not true, will Simplisafe be adding a router type device to the line up? How can I accommodate having sensors that are too far away from the hub currently, but are needed for multi level building? We have already placed the hub in an optimal position to reach most sensors, but a few we just can get to connect consistently. Wasn't an issue with previous Zigbee based security system.

Thank you.

@simplisafe8cabfc The Wireless Siren helps extend sounds that the Base Station makes (like its alarm siren, Exit/Entry Delay countdowns, and door chime) so it can be heard in other areas of the home and even outside, but it does not extend the rage that SimpliSafe devices can communicate at.

Currently, we do not offer a range extender. But we have submitted a feature requests to our dev team for their consideration.

We recommend looking at the placement of the Base Station and your SimpliSafe devices, and scan the area around them. Are there any thick walls or heavy appliances directly in their path? Physical interference like that can impact how SimpliSafe devices communicate and weaken their connection.

We also recommend looking at the placement of the Base Station and confirm that it is not placed around devices that can impact its connection. It's important to make sure that the Base Station is at least 3 feet off the ground, and is placed on a non-dense material like glass or wood. For more details, see the Where Should I Place My Base Station article in the Help Center.
