Warranty Option/First Simplisafe installation of system bought more than 2 years ago

Bought a SimplSafe system in November of 2022. It was not installed in the intervening years. Long story no one needs to hear.

Finally, we installed the system one day ago. When I read the warranty information, I understand the 1 year warranty expires one year after purchase or order. So our system's warranty would have expired November 7, 2022, without having installed the system.

The information seems to say, as I read it, that as long as you choose a monitoring plan "before" the initial warranty expires you will get additional warranty time.

If we now buy a monitoring plan can we get some warranty coverage.

@hartsockdana Correct, all products sold by SimpliSafe® come with a limited one-year warranty.

 

If you subscribe to one of our monitoring plans before the one-year warranty expires, that warranty will be extended as long as your monitoring subscription remains uninterrupted. But if you subscribe to a monitoring plan after the one-year warranty has expired, those devices would not be subject to the extended warranty.

That is unfortunate. I took the system out of the box, installed and activated 2 days ago. The box sat, unused on a shelf for more than 2 years as we waited for our previous sercurity contract to run out.
