Turning off chime

Hello:

We bought our Simplisafe system a couple of years ago and just now got around to installing it.  I would just like to know how to turn the chimes off. every time I open a door or window.  I've looked in the Owner's Manual and it says I can turn the Wizard program by using it, but the program isn't compatible or can't use it because it doesn't support the Apple/Macintosh computer.  I've tried looking into the keypad, but I can't find how to turn them off either. Would appreciate any suggestions.  Thank you!

@Ella B if you are on the interactive plan, just log into your account at the website and configure it from there. If not, I would just call SS and ask them to do it for you remotely.  MACs on the old SS2 with the so called "EasyWizard" was only difficult.

Hi,

Is the interactive plan part of a paying plan? Because if it is, then we don't have it.  Turning the chime off shouldn't be SO difficult to do!  There should be a way to turn off the chime using the keypad and not have someone else do it for me, by remote control.  Thank you for your response.

The new system is much easier to use and can be setup via the keypad, but it sounds like you have the older model.  What Captain said are the only 2 ways to do it with your system.

lol!!!!!!! Yeah, the old system is a piece of sh*t!  I took it down and tossed it in the trash and would NEVER set eyes or think of buying a Simplisafe product EVER again! Thanx for your response.

You'd be angry too if you'd plunked down $300 for a piece of crap and had tried reaching "Contact Us," and not had the courtesy of a response from them! The system is ALL garbage!!!  (Found a workaround and you'd think that the idiots at Simplisafe could've suggested this, but what I did was to remove one of the batteries from the bottom of the base station. PROBLEM SOLVED!!). I'm smarter than they are!

So using the base station without batteries disables the chimes?  Or you removed the batteries and reinstalled them to disable the chimes?  Either way, thats interesting.  Glad you figured it out.  Hopefully you'll discover with time that the system is not garbage and actually works quite well.  And yes, the customer service is generating lots of horror stories these days, but thats kinda par for the course with any support center any more.
