Setting a static IP in the router causes loss of connectivity to simplisafe servers.
So, for my base station, doorbell pro and outdoor camera, I set static ip addresses for each through my router (Opnsense) and upon doing so, all three devices reported not being able to reach the simplesafe servers..though they did return pings to their assigned addresses. Once I removed those mappings for the static addresses, restarted my access point, and allowed them to obtain ip addresses via DHCP the devices immediately reconnected to the Simplisafe servers.
This almost seems like a bug to me as any other device besides simplisafe devices that I map this way can connect to the internet just fine.
Is this a bug or intended?

@dopey_microbe SimpliSafe® devices should be able to connect to static IPs - in fact, some members of our team have their cameras connected to static IPs.
If your devices are able to connect after removing the static IP mapping, this may be due to your router's settings. For example, perhaps the static IP range is more restrictive than the dynamic range.
