Intermittent "WiFi Disconnected" Message

Hi:

Intermittently we get a notification that our WiFi has been disconnected. Please see attached image for an example. The WiFi then automatically reconnects (we don't do anything with the SimpliSafe system). The shortest time period that this occurs for is  5', and the longest has been ~2 days. The home wireless network works fine during these time periods. No interaction (i.e., arming or disarming the system) during these times. The system has been disarmed when this occurs. It has occurred once every few weeks for the last several months. The system otherwise works fine.

Any ideas would greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Hi @largedoggie

What can help is to set up a guest Wi-Fi network that is locked at 2.4GHz and connect only your SimpliSafe devices to it. This can free up bandwidth and help the Base Station maintain its connection to your network.

@simplisafe_admin, Unfortunately, this doesn't work.

I had the same issue with my base station so I logged into my ASUS router, at the suggestion of a friend, and was able to find that you can change the "channel" that the 2.4G basically broadcasts on.  The channels run between 1-11 and the default is usually 5 so I changed my channel to 11 and it seems to have rectified the problem as I have no incidents over that last 2 weeks.  I believe most routers have this channel option.
