Constantly Monitored Door

I am trying to set up one door in my house that is constantly monitored - a door in the basement that is rarely used. I would like for it to be an instant trigger that there is a problem, regardless of whether system is off, or armed in home or away. Is this possible (without having to get a second base station)?

@bobhayesphd If I understand your post correctly, the answer is no and using a 2nd base and entry sensor, while it should work, is indeed an expensive way to get it done.  I (and many others) have requested this feature from SS for many years. I have three basement windows with entry sensors that have not been opened in 30+ years I want to protect all of the time. Unfottunately, at this point you can only get secret alerts in "off mode".   I would think it wouldn't be too much trouble to modify the software to allow arming one or serveral sensors to "armed" in off mode to accomplish this.

Simplisafe, how about a little pixie dust and make a holiday miracle happen? :-)

Hi @bobhayesphd,

Absolutely! You can do this in the app by going to My System > Device Settings. Then, click on the sensor you are referring to. Here you will see a switch to turn Instant Trigger on for only that sensor.

@harriet_c You got part of the request, but I believe you missed the part about arming the door in off mode. If that's not in his post, than I definitely had it in mine. Please allow specific sensors to be armed at all times.  Thanks!

Unfortunately no, there's currently no way for an intruder alarm to be triggered in Off Mode. The only option would be the Secret Alert, which means the user will get a notification, but no alarm event.
