Buying Simplisafe directly vs official 3rd Party

Tis the season to shop, and I thought it would be somewhat useful to post on the pro/cons of using the various channels available.

First up: Simplisafe.com direct

Pro: you are getting the product directly from the source, ground zero. Depending on timing, pricing can be big plus, but on the downside, unless you are buying a complete system, be prepared to pay for shipping, and like the good old pony express, slllllooowwww USPS.

3rd Party: Best Buy, Costco, Sam's Club and the like, no shipping costs as you can pick up the product at the retail site. Sales are sometimes better too. Example: Costco had a black friday deal with base, keypad, 4 entry sensors, 1 motion, 1 glass break AND not just one, but two outdoor cameras for $129!! I know three people who bought the package just for the outdoor cameras!!  

Downside: Retail outlets will not price match anything on Simplisafe.com.  I know this because I just tried getting my daughter the newer SA indoor camera for Christmas.
