Batteries for the sensors/keypads
For the keypads i use Good quality rechargeable NiMH batteries. I recharge the batteries every 3 months whether they need it or not.
entry sensors CR2032 watch battery, or whatever check yours first before you buy.
motion and glass break , for the motion i use rechargeable CR123A, The glass break uses the same though I have found that after a few weeks , says low battery low so I bought some Lithium CR123 batteries just for the glass break sensors.

Hi bjackson1,
Good info! Yep, the key advantage of lithium batteries is that they're good for low-drain, long-term applications. We figured most folks would be fine with replacing them completely if you only need to do it every 3 years or more.

bschatzow,
Ironically, polling battery levels takes up extra battery power. So the system doesn't do that constantly. But you will get a "Low Battery" warning when the levels are getting close to low.
However, if sensor batteries are not lasting the expected 3-5 years, we might need to troubleshoot - something might be affecting battery performance.
Or if you're getting a "Sensor Error", that means the sensor is failing to check in, which could be caused by other things, like severe physical or wireless interference.
Either way, we strongly suggest giving our Support team a call at 800-548-9508 and we can help you figure it out!
