Video Verification

I saw a response here somewhere from a couple years ago that said monitoring agents do not check video before forwarding the alert to the police when you have video verification. However, the documentation on the SimpliSafe website says the video verification can help avoid false alarms. How does it avoid false alarms? I am very apprehensive about the possibility of false alarms. They are EXTREMELY expensive in my county and I want to do everything I can to avoid them.

@mindy999 When Video Verification is enabled and your system's alarm is triggered, our monitoring agents will be able to view the footage your camera(s) captured during the alarm. This allows our agents to see if an intruder is on your property, and if so, notify your local police department when they request the dispatch of emergency services. Our agents being able to see if an intruder is on the premises, or if a door/window has been tampered with, can help prevent false alarms.

For more details, see the What is Video Verification article in the Help Center. And to learn more about preventing false alarms, see the Understanding the Preventing False Alarms article.
