Video Doorbell Pro Motion Detection

Does anyone else have an issue with your video doorbell pro not picking up motion within the motion field? I have everything set on the highest level. I have the entire field highlighted to detect motion. Yet it's not picking up all motion. This is my 2nd doorbell camera because the first one also had issues with the motion detection. I love the doorbell's camera quality & picture, I just need it to work!  I do not want to switch back to Ring but I may have to.

Hi @Elle ,

Sorry to hear you've been having trouble. As I understand it, you're no getting _any_ motion notifications at all from your Video Doorbell Pro, no matter how close you (or a subject) get to the unit, and no events from the doorbell appear on your timeline?

What happens when you press the doorbell button? (i.e. you should get the notification, and the entry in your Timeline)

Are you able to livestream?

And finally, what objects or walls are within view of the Video Doorbell? The unit uses infrared to detect motion (it's looking for heat signatures), and sometimes it can get confused by certain objects nearby.

My first thought was to try a reset, just in cause there's a problem with how the Video Doorbell is linking with the app. But you already mention getting a replacement, which is kind of the same thing already!

No motion detection for 3 months. All complaints have fallen to deaf ears. Promised call from engineering not received. It was taken note of here by Davey D., looks like the company has stopped listening. It is time to teach them a lesson with class action, deactivation and shout out at social media.

@davey_d​ Hi Davey! I can live stream from my phone with no issue. I ring the doorbell, it picks up, will work for a few hours, then it will go out again. It hasn't picked up motion for several days & cars have driven in front of my home, people have walked their dogs on the sidewalk in front of my home, the mall carrier has stopped by several times... all events have gone undetected. There are pillars on my porch but that should not be an issue when someone is walking up to my door to deliver a package. It's very frustrating & I've reached out to Simplisafe when it initially started. They sent a new doorbell. Same issue. I'm returning the Simplisafe doorbell, getting my money back, & going back to Ring. For the amount of money spent on the Simplisafe doorbell, I want it to work.

@ashmak​ I'm returning the doorbell for a refund. I'm not going to wait months to see if it works. I ordered it a month ago & I've already had to get a replacement for the one they initially sent me & it's not working. I'll go back to Ring for my doorbell camera option.

@Elle​ Good decision. I am also planning to move to some other service. Simplisafe is simply unresponsive and arrogant. I will deactivate monitoring services for good.
