video doorbell not sensing motion

I’ve had the same issue as others with the video doorbell not sensing motion. I’ve even dealt with tech-support twice and they’ve replaced the doorbell twice I’ve added a range extender when I test my conductivity it give me a good DBM but still it intermittently decides to sense motion or not. Is this an inherent issue with these doorbells or is there some other flaw that engineering is not correcting. If tech-support is reading this please feel free to contact me

Hi @jjssas5,

If this is not a reception or connection issue, we'll want to look at the environment around your Video Doorbell Pro and its physical setup to see why it is not consistently detecting motion.

The Video Doorbell Pro's motion sensor is most sensitive to side-to-side movement, so it helps to adjust the physical placement of it so it is looking to the side of active areas instead of head on. We offer a Horizontal Wedge for this exact purpose that will adjust the horizontal position of the Video Doorbell Pro by 15 degrees. If you reach out to our Support team, they can send you one.

@emily_s

thanks for reviewing my case. Is there anyway or an adjustment that the doorbell can be made more sensitive from straight on motion. Because my doorbell sits back against my door and most people do enter it straight on. I will call tech-support and ask about the 15° wedge but I just wondering if there was any other solution than just that to improve the sensitivity of the doorbell itself

@jjssas5 You are able to adjust the sensitivity of the Video Doorbell's motion sensor to make it more sensitive to motion around it. This can be done in the SimpliSafe mobile app by going to My System > Camera Settings > select [your Video Doorbell] > Motion Detection. Then, under Sensitivity, move the sliding bar to High.
