Video Doorbell causes mechanical chimes to ring continuously when powered up

Just bought the SimpliSafe system.  Trying to install Video Doorbell.  Turned off house power, wired it up per instructions, turned the house power back on.  My mechanical chimes start sounding continuously.  My system has three doorbell push buttons (front door, rear door, and side door).  Just trying to get the front one going at this time.  I've tried tech support several times but they can't figure it out.  I've included an image of my chime box wiring.  Any help?

Hi @jeffpo,

It sounds like you need a Chime Connector to ensure that the proper voltage is being sent to your Video Doorbell Pro. If you reach out to our Support team, they can send you one free of charge.

Thanks @emily_s , but have already done that.  Didn't work.  It doesn't sound like a case of improper voltage to me.  It seems that the Video Doorbell is completing the circuit like my regular push button would do, but it's doing it without me having to press the button.  I've also tried a second Video Doorbell with the same results, so it isn't a defective unit.

I REALLY need someone from SimpliSafe that understands doorbell wiring and electronics to troubleshoot this.  As an update, I verified the F, S, and R connections are to my existing doorbell buttons, just like the schematic image shows.  If I disconnect those, the doorbell button lights go out and the buttons don't work.  I verified the #2 connection is the TRANS wire, as disconnecting it causes all the doorbell button lights to go out and not function.  I discovered that the #3 connection is not two wires as it appears in the original image, but rather a loop of the same wire.  When I disconnect it, it causes my (F)ront doorbell to only do a ding instead of playing all the notes.  My (R)ear doorbell also does a single ding, which it always did (though it might have sounded different).  It caused my (S)ide doorbell not to work at all.  So I'm a bit unsure of how this loop of wire is wired into the system.  Anyone out there know about doorbell wiring and electronics?

Hey Jeffpo, did you get this resolved?  I have the exact same door bell chime and am having the same issue.  I managed to burn up a chime connector on my fiddling and got another one.  For the life of me I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

@JaronW I'm not Jeff and there's not enough info in this thread to be sure. The pictures look like digital doorbells. SimpliSafe's only works with the old analog styles like my 1980 model Nutone.

Still don't have my video doorbells working.  Is there anyone at SimpliSafe tech support that can help?  Any suggestions?

@jeffpo Since a Chime Connector did not help to stop this continuous ringing, I am going to get you in touch with our Specialist team for some deeper troubleshooting. I have forwarded your case details over to them and a senior agent will reach out to you soon to get to the bottom of this, so keep an ear out for their call!
