System Breaking down piece by piece

This is my second simplisafe system. I have had it for 6 months.

The doorbell camera stopped accepting a charge. I bought an extension chord and it won't accept it. I tried to charge it from the original chord and it would not accept a charge. Now it is completely dead. It said online it was "critically low" and now unrevivable.

Now my door senser died. It is 6 months old. Will not chime when door opens and does not turn blue when the button is pressed.

Getting "support" on Chat is terrible - all you get is aggravated.

I would like to know why I am paying a monthly monitoring fee for a dead system. Anyone?

@gmais What is the current setup for your Video Doorbell Pro? The Video Doorbell Pro requires existing doorbell wiring and a transformer with 8-24VAC, 10-30VA in order to charge the battery. We do not recommend using different methods to power the Video Doorbell Pro, because that could lead to damage to the device. Try mounting the Video Doorbell Pro on its mounting bracket, and leave it on there for up to 30 minutes to allow it to charge back up.

If the Entry Sensor's light does not flash when its button is pressed, that indicates that its battery is dead. We recommend removing the battery from the Entry Sensor, wipe it clean with a dry cloth, and then wait 15 seconds before putting the battery back into the device. Once the battery is back in, press the Test Button on the sensor again and see if its light flashes blue.

If the light does not flash, that indicates that the battery in the sensor needs to be replaced. If the Entry Sensor is on a door that is constantly getting opened/closed every day, that could make its battery drain faster.

I have a camera mounted above the front door. It is not a doorbell cam. I purchased a Ring SIMPLISAFE extension chord to keep it charged rather than having to keep charging the battery. The camera will not take a charge from the RING  SIMPLISAFE extension chord and will not take a charge from the regular Ring battery charging chord. It is now completely dead. This camera is 6 months old. So is the door sensor.

I am unclear why I am paying for monthly monitoring if none of your devices to monitor work.

*Edited - I inadvertently used the name of another company. I have SIMPLISAFE products.

@gmais We offer our own power cable for the Outdoor Camera to give it a continuous charge. We do not recommend using a third-party cable, as they may not charge the camera properly.

It IS a  SimpliSafe power cable. I am sorry I used the word "Ring" before. I was thinking about switching to it when writing the post.

The camera is Simplisafe. The power cable is Simplisafe. The Simplisafe camera is now completely dead.

The door sensor works now that I got a new battery. But the camera was expensive and I need it to be working.

@gmais If the power cable is not charging the Outdoor Camera, we first recommend checking that the cable is plugged into the camera all the way. We recommend pushing the cable into the camera using both thumbs, if possible, until the plug is flush to the camera. This ensures that the cable both has a water-tight seal to the camera, and so that it can also charge it.

If the cable is plugged in all the way, we would want to check and make sure that the outlet that the cable is plugged into is working properly. This can be done by plugging something like your phone into the outlet and see if it gets a charge.

But if the power cable is plugged in all the way, and your outlet is working, that could indicate an issue with the power cable itself. In that case, please contact our Support team, as they may need to replace the cable.

Thank you. I had my electrician check it and there is nothing wrong with the  outlet and the cable was in all the way to the camera. But now the camera won't even charge from the small charger that came with the Simplisafe kit. It is completely dead.

Before I posted here I tried to get help through your customer support. The "Chat team" at support  could not / would not help me.

I don't think it is fair to be charging me for monitoring if I don't have a camera monitoring my front door plus the loss of money for the cost of the camera.

Please - can someone tell me HOW to stop Simplisafe from billing me every month when I do not have monitoring? The camera does not work. No one will help. It is dead and support will not help me.

Just tell me where I can disengage with these people? They should not be charging me without remedying the situation.

Thank you.
