Spotlight not coming on

My cameras used to turn the spotlight on at night as I walked past the garage, but it has stopped doing so. Is this a setting I'm missing? Or has an update changed something? I know the spotlight still works, when I disconnect and reconnect the battery, it will light up at first.

Hi @richspasc, 

No updates have been made that would impact the Outdoor Camera's Spotlight, and its setting should still be the same.

I would recommend toggling the Spotlight setting off in the SimpliSafe mobile app, save that setting change, and then turn it back on again.

It can also help to reset the Outdoor Camera's firmware by pressing and holding the pairing button on the back of the camera for 30 seconds, or until the device chimes. You will then be prompted to set the camera back up in the SimpliSafe mobile app.

I am having the same issue and I tries to toggle the settings in the app and did a hard reset on the camera and it still does not work. The camera is only 2 months old!

@omervejzovic314 What is the environment around your Outdoor Camera like? Are there any bright lights in its direct line of sight that could mimic sunlight (think things like street lights, porch lights, or even string lights)?

 

If there are any lights like that in the camera's line of sight, they could prevent its Spotlight from turning on at night. In that case, try adjusting the angle or placement of the camera so the light is not in its view.
