Smart Alarm camera will not connect

I have installed the entire system. Base, sensors, keypad, doorbell camera, sirens. One sensor and siren near 50 yards away and they work great. Many of these devices are connected to my Wifi, as are several other devices around my home. The Smart Camera is Fully charged, the base does recognize it both before and after I hit the reset button. The next step is to connect the camera to the wifi at this point a red light on the front of the camera comes on, but it never connects. I can have it sitting right next to the wifi router and still it will not connect. The doorbell Camera connected fine. My wifi network is NOT max user loaded either as I connected several other items in the house after attempting this camera....Bad wifi card in camera maybe, or is there some trick to getting this type of camera to connect?.

FYI, I have attempted all of the efforts read about in the only other similar post, that being the one about outdoor cameras  not connecting.

Update....a few minutes after posting this, I got a notice that my keypad needed a firmware or software upgrade which took about 15 minutes. After this I once again removed this camera and attempted to reinstall. This time the sytem did allow the camera to connect and at the moment all appears to be ok.

...Thanks for any feedback.

@mkc_1962 First, welcome to the SS community. Being a customer since 2012, I really like my SS3 (as I did my SS2) and works well protecting my family and 30+ other friends, family, neighbors etc that I have recommended. In that total, 1 has been returned and 1 disconnected, as they moved.  That said, please do not hestitate to call support, especially on weekends as the SS admins usually don't cover the site on weekends or holidays. That said, again, support is there 365 days a year and they are pretty good.

As for as your SA cameras, I have 3 of them and all connect fine on my Google WIFI mesh. They also only connect on the 2.4g band.  Also, they must be on WIFI to be fully installed and, for the initial install, there could be a few large updates they must go through.  Suggest you remove them from your app, if there and reinstall. Once you enter your wifi pw, leave them alone for about 20 minutes to see if they update and connect. If not, again, call support.

Please post your outcome here if you get a chance. Thanks!

PS The cameras, base and phone must all be on the same WIFI SID

Thanks for the input CAPTAIN11,

After that keypad update all seems to be ok with the cameras. Good to know about them all needing to stay on the same SSID as I do have quite a few repeaters around the house, but have various SSID's for easier management.

Right now all seems ok with the entire system, Except one door sensor I have about 50 yds from the house at my shop....wifi items pick up out there fine, but door sensors dont do well behind metal doors. My last system (ADT) they had sensors where the sensor could be placed in a window, but the magnet remotely stayed at the door. Trying to find if SS has anything like that.

@mkc_1962 I'm happy to hear that your Smart Alarm Indoor Camera is connected to Wi-Fi! Regarding your Entry Sensor, you are correct, we do not recommend placing it on a metal surface as that can cause the sensor to demagnetize and have it read the incorrect open/closed states.

However, you can place a buffer between the sensor and door to stop that issue from happening. As mentioned by Captain11, you can put a piece of cardboard between the sensor and door, or even an extra layer of adhesive, to prevent any damage to the Entry Sensor.

Place a piece of cardboard between the sensors and the door.  Also. Call support for other troubleshooting tips.  I too am a former ADT customer and will never ever go back.  Word of advice. Make sure that you fulfilled the requirements in the contract so that you are not. Bill it when you think you've canceled.  Best of luck with your new system

Also, if you search the community there are some hacks that can help with the entry sensor if all else fails.
