outdoor camera

Love my SS system.  Never had a problem until 5 weeks ago when the camera stopped motion detection notifications to my iPhone.  Two weeks later the base station stopped armed/disarmed notifications. After numerous rebooting and checking the setting with several customer reps, they decided to send a new camera.  Again this camera did the same, no notification and everything else worked normally.  Finally a gentleman from their engineering called and fixed the base station problem in their app and I started to get the arming and disarming notifications.  But, he couldn't get the camera working and he put in to ship me another camera.  I got it yesterday and set it up today.  When testing it for motion, this one too would not send the notification.  I decided to take it down from the mounting and go over the set up procedure again.  Upon disconnecting the power cable, I received the motion signal!! Figuring that I may have not pushed the cable in far enough, I took my time connecting it very carefully. After waiting about 5 minutes, I walked in front of the camera and Nooo notification! After repeating 2 times and no signal,  I went and unplugged the cable. This time again I received the notification of the motion. So, I left it disconnected from the power and it is now detecting every time I walk in front of it!  Curious to find out if anyone else is having this issue, I google searched the camera no longer sends motion detection alerts and a post dated, February 18, 24 from rmolinowski pulled up.  He has the exact same issue.  After working with SS Development Team, they told him the issue resulted of them recently changing the software that regulates how camera behaves in low versus high (90%) state of charge and is or not plugged into charging unit. I called the SS and reported what I found out, but she said she did not have knowledge about it and is reporting it to the Development Team.

Hi @kucenicm,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention! Our engineering team is looking into similar cases to see what could be causing this. I've forwarded your case details to them as well to further their investigation.
