Outdoor camera - Strong winds
I just installed my outdoor cameras but I'm regretting it because I saw mounts available for them. I was wondering how much wind it can handle with just the magnets? I'm talking about the ability to handle the winds and keep the angle and if it'll be OK if it drops. A separate side question is what's stopping people from grabbing a stick and knocking it down. Starting to think I should've bought a mount now.

I had mine on just the magnetic mounts and went through a tropical storm and they were fine but I did replace them for the permanent mounts they have on there website which you can get on through the app under purchase more or you can go on Amazon as well.

Hi @spam123,
The Outdoor Camera can hold its position on its magnetic mount in winds up to 60 MPH. In the unlikely event that your camera does fall it will be okay, but if there is any damage our Support team can always help with a replacement.
Most sticks won't be sturdy enough to move the camera from its position on the mount without snapping first, and a potential intruder would also have to know that the mount is adjustable to try to move it. But even then, if they try to move the camera it would detect that motion and send you a notification.
Of course, you can always swap out the camera's magnetic mount with the permanent mount that is available on our website.

i am finding that winds around 20 or so cause the cameras to slip and loose position. i am going to replace the magnetic mounts.
