Outdoor camera product and accessories questions

The outdoor camera page has several accessories -- not sure how they are related and what to order.

1)  How is the extra battery being recharged?

2) Where does the power cable plug into the camera?

3) The permanent mount, doesn't look like the magnetic mount in the video.

Any explanations?

Hi @nahum,

To answer your questions:

  1. The Outdoor Camera comes with a charging cable that allows you to charge its battery using an outlet. When you have an extra battery, you can charge it with that cable while your Outdoor Camera is in use. This way, when your Outdoor Camera's battery needs to be recharged, you can swap it out with your extra battery instead of taking your camera offline while waiting for its original battery to recharge.
  2. The power cable plugs into the back of the Outdoor Camera.
  3. Correct, the permanent mount is different than the magnetic mount that is shown in the installation video. The magnetic mount that comes with the Outdoor Camera allows you to easily adjust the angle of your camera. But if you would like it to always remain in one place, you can use the permanent mount. It also comes in handy if you want to install an Outdoor Camera under an overhang!

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

I have heard conflicting information about the power cable. It seems that one can plug your outdoor camera into a 110V indefinately. Howerver, I have also heard that you can "over-charge" the battery by doing this?

My application requires that I plug into 110V continuously, but don't want to compromise the battery.

@steinauer I have not heard any reports of the Outdoor Camera Power Cable over-charging the battery, nor should it. The Outdoor Camera Power Cable will keep your camera charged at all times, and will not damage its battery.
