Outdoor Camera performance
I have the same issue. My indoor cameras seem to work fine, but the outdoor cameras have NEVER reliably connected. I’ll also running a mesh network and have also positioned the cameras inches away from different mesh units, and it’s still a crap shoot if they actually connect. I’ll get a notice of motion, but the live feed sits and spins for a while, only to say that it can’t connect. Since it’s supposed to be a security camera, it’d be unfortunate if the motion it detected was someone meaning to do my family harm because it appears there’d be no warning nor evidence. I’ve been patiently waiting for well over a year for this to be resolved, but from everything I read, it gets blamed on the users’ Wi-Fi and never accepted as a problem with the Simplisafe equipment.

Hi @dorwoll ,
Sorry to hear you've had so much trouble with your Outdoor Camera. While there's a lot that can be done to boost response times from the user end (troubleshooting your WiFi, etc.), our dev team is still actively continuing work on improvements, especially through firmware updates.
While that effort is ongoing, one thing that might help is to position your Base Station and Outdoor Camera closer to each other. To preserve battery life, the camera goes into a deep sleep mode, and part of the wake-up process involves communicating with the Base Station. So reducing the range between the two components might help.

Yea. My daughter was in a domestic situation and her outdoor camera has only been used on 3 dif occasions. The battery won’t charge, even after replacement battery. Just not happy.

I have the same problem with my outdoor camera, it seldom works connects if it wants to and then it won't connect when I need it to. My cousin says ring is much better, guess I'll be going to ring. GA.
