Outdoor camera behavior under Off/Home

Just installed my system. Set all the sensors to not chime during Home setting. When I went to the outdoor camera settings I could not find the same selection to adjust the outdoor camera.

Does the camera alarm when in the Home setting?

Did some more digging on previous Q&A and found my answer. Camera is on all the time. No option to adjust under Off/Home/Away modes if I understand correctly.

Hi @breeves2245,

It is correct that you cannot put the camera into Off/Home/Away modes as it is always on. However, the Outdoor Camera will not set off an alarm. The alarm in the Outdoor Camera will only sound if the alarm in the Base Station is triggered.

So the outdoor camera itself does not alarm the call center? An intruder would have to break in or somehow trigger another armed sensor first?
But the camera will sound an alarm when another sensor is trigger (if set to do so) while set in home or away.
just trying to understand how the camera works. I am familiar with alarm system.

Also how long should I expect with average detection for the battery to last on 1080p?

Hi @PapaJohn

Yes, the camera will act as a relay for the siren if the alarm is tripped for your system by other means (motion or entry for example). This is configurable, and by default it is turned off on the app.

The camera itself will always pick up motion alerts whether the system is off, in home mode, or in away mode. These will notify you via push notification so you can check the feed as needed.

Generally speaking, the battery in the Outdoor Camera should last between 3-6 months. This is all dependent on which features you utilize. For example, having the cameras motion detection set to all motion will drain the battery much faster than if you setup motion zones and set it to people only. Also having the spotlight on for night vision can drain the battery much faster.

Only problem is, is the mic sucks on the outdoor cameras as I have 4 and you cannot hear me on it at all so I can assume the siren coming out would be awful as well, my next door neighbor was having an irrigation system put in and the workers came over to my yard to take my water hose and I'm yelling in the camera which is right under him and no one heard a word
