MAC ID randomizer vs binding ID and IP addy
I can't seem to keep my cameras online. I am showing -37db for signal strength at POS. For security my router is set to use a MAC ID randomizer for connections (5 year old tech). Can the cameras handle the latest security?
--What if I use IP and ID binding on a separate network?
-- Does it matter what channel the cameras are on. Yes I know they only work on 2.4 and in that there are up to 14 channels. I move my channels around based on the output of the neighbors' factory settings. (everyone else is on 6, I moved my channel to 11)
Thoughts? This random works on minute and not the next is painful. Even after a connection check of 3 bars I go back to view and the cameras are saying they are off line... Which OBTW I never get notified of any offline status..

Hi @blkvette94,
IP and ID binding is a bit of a complex topic, and it may not help with your cameras' connectivity. We would recommend starting with another route for troubleshooting first, in case a simpler solution can help. I know that you have already used our in-app connection tool, so the next step I would recommend is to set up a guest network locked at 2.4GHz and connect only your SimpliSafe devices to it. This helps act as a dedicated connection so your cameras can function without being disrupted by other devices on your network.
It also doesn't matter the channel you set your network to. I have seen a handful of users say that they also adjust their channel based on what their neighbors are on.

tried guest network. No joy.
What I do not understand is why I go to the app/select cam to go live/It says no connection. (no indication it is offline in the app) I go to connection test and it shows 3 bars -53dbm and 10.33 mbps. (Legit signal is -38dbm and rocking 318mbps according to both my phone and my tablet. Hardwired ookla shows at 483.) But the camera isn't showing connecting. (yes I understand the computer chips and connection requirements built into low end cameras don't connect the same as a phone)
--I show it as a client on the RE315 TP link tether. (each tether has a different name forcing it only to connect to it so it doesn't just grab any signal) I can connect my wifi only tablet another 50 feet or so further away from the camera to the same tether and pull up a google search no issues.
--My router ASUS RT-AX86U shows all three of the extenders as clients and functioning (Note I bought the extenders strictly for this system). I am at max performance and don't have any schedulers or time outs set on the router which would cause a signal drop. And, as stated, I moved my channel so it has only edge overlap with the neighbor's wifi.
--I have screen shots of this, all within the same 3 minutes.
--And then 10 minutes later it is running like a champ... and then again the next day, same problem, different camera. This one is locked straight to the router 2.4 and sits less than 20feet away from the router with a window. Every camera has either the router or an extender no more than 25ft away. (tether app shows them placed perfectly). NO connection issues with 2 tablets, 2 phones, a roomba and a few other devices before this system.
and just within the last 10 minutes I get a motion notification with video and yet the camera shows offline and won't connect????
