Indoor Camera Motion Notifications not working when Alarm Trigger is off

I have an indoor camera configured to detect motion, give motion notifications but NOT trigger an alarm when in Home mode.  It does detect motion, as I can see it in the history but I don't get an app notification.  In away mode, I have it configured to trigger an alarm and it does and the motion notifications come in just fine. This seems like an app bug to me. I tried removing and reinstalling the camera (as customer support chat live agent told me to do) but that didn't help.

@mindy999 When did you begin to experience this behavior? Did you previously receive motion notifications from this camera while in Home Mode?

 

If your phone is set to Do Not Disturb, or if the SimpliSafe® app is running in the background of your phone, you would not receive push notifications. Could either of those two reasons pertain to your situation? If not, we recommend deleting the SimpliSafe® app from your device and then redownload it as a next step.

 

But if deleting/redownloading the app doesn't help, please let us know your phone's operating system (Android or iOS), model, and which version of the SimpliSafe® app it is running.

I only just finally started arming my alarm so I can practice in practice mode, so I don't know if it's a new problem or not. my system is very new. I am not in do not disturb and sometimes I DO successfully get motion notifications.

I have my system configured to in Home mode, have the camera detect motion and give motion notifications but NOT set off the alarm. In Away mode, I have detect motion, motion notifictionas AND trigger alarm turned on.

In my testing, in Home mode, I do NOT get motion notifications. In Away mode I DO get them.

So I doubt redownloading the app will help. The app is simply not sending notifications if I have trigger alarm turned off on the camera.  the app properly sends me notifications for all other sorts of things.
