Cameras incorrectly named on the Keypad

Well here is anew one with the cameras. on the app I have an outdoor camera named garage on the key pad it shows "balcony" as the name. Serial numbers match and I never called it balcony. I also have an indoor camera called pool. The key pad doesn't show it at all.. AND NO I am not reinstalling everything again. So how much did you pay the cnet editors to endorse your products?

Hi @blkvette94 ,

Thanks so much for reporting. So if I understand this correctly, the Devices list on your Keypad does not correctly reflect the names of the actual devices in your system.

That Indoor Camera, is it the SimpliCam (the black model)? If so, that's from the older generation of camera, which isn't added to your system like other components. It connects only through the app. So it's not something to worry about in this case.

The Outdoor Camera though should be showing the correct name. I take it the camera does have the correct name in the SimpliSafe app, as well as on your Timeline and notifications?

I will of course make sure that our engineering team are notified of this issue.

Nothing on the website stated that the black camera was not an integral part of the overall system-- fail.  I would not have bought it if I had known that. These things I am discussing have been on this community forum for years. There is clearly no intention or ability to fix the outdoor cameras and the app.

@blkvette94 the newer models of camera - the Wireless Outdoor Camera and the Smart Alarm Indoor Camera - do have more integration with the alarm system, to enable great features like allowing the cameras to relay alarm sirens, and trigger recordings even faster. But SimpliCam Indoor Camera is still a great addition to your system. And because of how it's set up, it can even be set up independently from an alarm system, so you can have it work as a standalone unit - which a lot of customers really like.

As for the issue with the Outdoor Camera that you encountered, it sounds like a very new issue that is unrelated to WiFi connectivity and stability (which was the issue in the thread you commented in previously). But I've forwarded your case to our escalations team, and we'll be investigating this thoroughly.
