Apple TV app

Is there anything in the works to make the SimpliSafe app compatible with Apple TV? Or even Roku? It would be a neat feature to have it integrated with those, particularly for viewing camera footage. I’m probably oversimplifying the functionality on the backend but end result, that would be amazing. Love the system so far!

Right now, no. Our devs are focused on improvements and features on the existing SimpliSafe app for iOS and Android. But if we ever expand integrations to set-top-boxes, you'll hear it here on the Community.

@SamG​ At this time, we do not have an update. The app is currently not compatible with Apple TV or Roku.

wanting to access / view the outdoor SimpliSafe cameras on my Apple TV. Yes, we could Airplay and share our iOS device screens, but that breaks the TV experience. 
use case: while watching TV, a notification would pop up that motion was detected on <camera device name> pausing the TV playback and an option to view the camera. Selecting the camera notification opens a popup of the live view of the camera, not selecting the notification closes the popup and resume playback. 
make sense?

Thanks @SamG : if this is the way Apple Home and Google Home do it with brands that "work with" ...in their respective environments, so be it, regardless if there is a toggle to enable or disable interruption to just give the choice to retrieve it on the side (usually the right side) while TV experience is going, even better. My point is that brands gotta try to mirror the UX that works well in other ecosystems (partial or total competitors) to remain competitive.

Roku just released a system compatible with Roku TV.  I might cancel SimpliSafe and switch system just for the ease of monitoring while watching tv without the need of using my phone. 

I have inside info that SimpliSafe wont have anything compatible most likely until 2026.  This is just way too long. Sorry.

Any plans to implement?

SimpliSafe-for-AppleTV app, not even in the talks amongst decision makers?
Do gatekeepers inform decision-makers at SimpliSafe?  Feb 2024 as of time of this comment. 
The way one arrives to this forum wondering the same, others will and they would do good to leave a timestamp as to show SimpliSafe this "pending development" matters. 

For every person requesting there are dozens to thousands wanting it. It is a common sense request and it is quite surprising that it has not been implemented, with TV screens "even more prevalent and ubiquitous" than premium phones on every household in the States.  

If and when, let's hope SimpliSafe makes plenty of noise.

Hi @BetterSafeThanSorry ,

We have a formal feature request section here on the Community. We currently don't have one for Apple TV, so we suggest that you make one!

As Community admin, I meet with our Product team regularly to tell them about what the Community has been asking for. And if/when requests go into development, I bring that news back to our Product Requests section, and keep you updated.

We definitely want:

- live streaming only (no access to recordings or account data) to AppleTV, Roku, etc.

- generate an alert on the screen when when using AppleTV, Roku (regardless of app) when someone rang the video doorbell pro so you could fast switch to it

I, like every other Apple/SimpliSafe customer, want the ability to watch my cameras from my TV.  We don't need a full-featured security app.  Just write a simple app that lets us watch our cameras and receive motion notifications,

feature request section here on the Community. 

Maybe invest a min or five and other Apple ecosystem consumers will follow.
