What happens after Police are called?

What happens after dispatch is called out to your home?  We bought a 130 year old house that we are fixing up to eventually live in. We live an hour and thirty minutes away, so we installed Simplisafe because of that, and it's nice when I'm there by myself working with my headphones on I can set it to Home.    But, recently we had a motion detector go off.  A Simplisafe operator called and we had them dispatch police.  Now what?   We're not there, so how do you know what happened?  If the police find something do they notify you?  Or does Simplisafe notify you?  How does that work?

Hi @repeteoz,

The procedure that is followed after emergency services have been dispatched is up to your local police/fire department and as such, varies from place to place. Usually, when we receive a burglar alarm signal, the police will check for any obvious signs of a break-in (broken windows, etc.) and react based on what they find. For specifics on how the response to dispatch is handled in your area, we recommend calling your local police station on their non-emergency line.
