Hi @choctaw2,

The Outdoor Camera was designed to always be active and record motion, regardless of the system's armed state. However, we know that it's a popular request tie the Outdoor Camera's motion detection to its armed state, and our dev team is currently creating it! When this feature is ready to roll out, we'll provide an update in this thread.

What happens if we remove the camera temporarily? Is it easy to add it back on? Honestly, no one wants notifications with videos of us with our friends hanging out in the backyard or of us talking to our neighbors on the front porch. Terrible design. Usability -- it's a thing you should be up on.

@philtechart If you temporarily remove the camera from your system it will not detect/record any motion. You can add it back to your system using the SimpliSafe mobile app by going to the three-bar menu on the top left corner of the screen > Add Device or Camera > Let's Go and then follow the on-screen prompts.

But instead of removing the camera from your system, I would recommend using our Snooze Notifications feature, which allows you to temporarily pause receiving notifications from your camera(s). To learn more about this feature and how to enable it, please see this article in our Help Center.

Unfortunately at this time you have to manually turn off each camera from the app.

Yeah this should be a setting in each camera to mark only notify when armed. Or when someone uses video door bell or smart lock. I think the smart lock should have a "ringer" on it through the system.
