my keypad keeps disconnecting from wifi, yet the rest of the system is fine

I guess its no huge issue, maybe, just annoying to have something that doesn't work 100%. All my cameras, sensors, access to app etc. all work fine, so i assume that the wifi is getting to the base station..however,  I just noticed the other day that my keypad wasn't connected to the wifi. I was checking on doing an update and the keypad said it wasn't connected to the internet.. I had to type in the password again ( why did it not remember that?) to regain its wifi access..

The next day I checked and the keypad had lost connection again.. I had to type in the wifi password again .. any ideas what is going on?? why its not reconnecting ?

sidenote.. My wifi is very fast, strong and stable.

Thank you in advance for any ideas

Hi @rfk91 ,

Just to clarify before we continue. The cameras and the Base Station do connect to your WiFi, through your WiFi router or access point. That's how they connect to the SimpliSafe service and app.

The connection between the local components and the Base Station does not use WiFi, and instead uses its own local radio frequency. That includes the sensors, as well as the Keypad.

Since you're being asked to type in the WiFi password again, it sounds like it's actually the Base Station's connection to WiFi that we should troubleshoot. You're definitely right, if it's just disconnected (which can happen from time to time, with all wireless networks), then it should just be able to remember your WiFi password and reconnect on its own. So something else might be going on, I suspect at the hardware level.

I would suggest reaching out to our Support team at 800-548-9508. They can look into your account, and even replace your Base Station if necessary.

@rfk91 I would first check the batteries and, in doubt, try new ones.  No luck there, suggest you call support to troubelshoot.
